West Ridge Rover Retreat - Licensed

Pet care experience

**Our business is Insured; Licensed with the City of Calgary.** We have created a fun and loving home for your pups to come spend their vacation, while you go on yours! Hearing that our clients never had to worry while they were away, knowing that their dog was well taken care of and enjoying themselves, is the best comment that we can receive after a stay. It is our goal to ensure that your dog is comfortable, happy and well-loved while you are away, just like they would be at home, and it just happens that they are often very tired when they go home. With having so many wonderful repeat clients, our home has grown into a very enjoyable retreat that your dog will surely enjoy! Many of our clients know one another, so when they arrive and see their friends, it's that much more exciting for them! Please note: I book both through Rover and privately, therefore my reviews and new client numbers may not change on here. I am very busy and I am not always able to get to my texts or emails right away because I'm either working or looking after the pups! Thanks for your patience! About Us: Kerrie works out of the home a few hours each day, and Drew is able to work from home most days. We have both owned and cared for small caged pets for over 30 years, and cared for dogs for several years in the past. This journey started when we looked after a family member's dog for an extended time and fell in love with having a dog in our family's life. Even after having so many dogs in our home, we are still not ready for one of our own (and I don't think we could ever decide on one breed at this point!). We enjoy extending our home to your dogs and providing the love and attention we would give our own. We absolutely love the joy it brings to our family and seeing how happy the dogs are when they stay at our home, and even more thrilled when they are excited coming back (even as they turn the corner onto our street!). They truly are one of the family when they stay with us! Our home is a two-storey house in the beautiful community of Cougar Ridge. It has a large, fenced-in yard, pad-locked while your dog is at our home. Cougar Ridge is a very nice neighbourhood with pathways connecting parks and natural areas. There are only a few busy intersections, and many can be avoided on walks or crossed at controlled intersections. Your dog would be with someone for the majority of the day, with only minor errands requiring alone time. Plenty of snuggles, playtime in and outside in the yard will be the main activities your dog will enjoy. Our children are gentle and caring, and enjoy helping in the care of your dog (lots of pets and cuddles!) alongside myself and my husband. Should they need a bath, we can provide that for an extra fee, but we ask that they arrive clean and with trimmed nails whenever possible. Our children will want to be around your dog when they are home so if your dog is easily annoyed by older kids, our home may not be a good fit. If they like love and attention, we'd love to have them! ** Unfortunately we can not accept dogs with severe separation anxiety at this time. House-trained and friendly dogs only, please. ** Daycare Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute grace period Early drop-off and late pick-up available for $5.00/hour or portion thereof Boarding Hours: Boarding stays run in 24-hour time blocks. An extra daycare (or portion of) may be applied if your dog's stay extends beyond the time block. We have flexible drop-off and pick-up times for boarding, and we will work with your schedule to accommodate your needs as best we can. Holiday Rates (Typically $5 more) will apply for Canadian Holidays and may not be reflected in the initial quotation. They will be applied as outlined by Rover. PLEASE NOTE: When you book with us, you do so with the understanding and agreement that pet care at West Ridge Rover Retreat (WRRR) is an in-home service; we are not a kennel. You accept the risks involved and are solely responsible for any damages that result from injuries or damages caused by your dog while at WRRR. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WRRR from any and all claims, liabilities, costs and expenses, including court costs and attorney fees, arising out of any harm or injury caused by your dog to other dogs or persons. You authorize WRRR to do whatever is deemed necessary for the safety, health and well-being of your dog and you agree to assume full financial responsibility for any and all medical expenses incurred. You explicitly waive and relinquish any and all claims against WRRR, agents, and representatives for any injury, illness, or harm to your dog. Under no circumstances will WRRR be liable for consequential damages or damages beyond the replacement value of your dog. REQUIREMENTS For All Guests: - your dog's vaccinations must be up-to-date and proof must be provided prior to your dog's stay (DHLPP ( Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), Current Rabies, Bordetella (at least 7-10 days prior to the stay)) - we require that daycare and boarding guests be on a flea/tick preventative at a minimum from April through October. Though we take precautions on the premises, these pests can easily be picked up during outdoor play - your dog must be Licensed with the City of Calgary (or other authority) - your dog must be clean, recently bathed, groomed and nails trimmed **(nail trims are extremely important as sometimes long nails can cause injury, or be injured, during playtime) - your dog must arrive and leave on leash - make us aware of any allergies or medical conditions - ask any questions or concerns you may have during the Meet & Greet or through chat - provide us with any and all information that you want about your pup that you think we need to know - no matter how long or short your stay, it's important that you feel comfortable with leaving your pup with us For Daycare guests, please: - bring treats and instructions if necessary - bring a special toy if it will make them more comfortable (leave the irreplaceable items at home however, in case of rough play and damage) - bring a harness or gentle lead if you have one with their leash for walking (we do have harnesses here if necessary) For extended stays, please: - (for over 1 week stays) your dog must have been recently bathed and groomed; we provide light brushing, but extensive brushing and bathing is an extra charge - bring a freshly washed bed or crate if that is what your dog sleeps on/in (we have a couple crates here we can use if the size is right) - bring food and treats with feeding instructions - bring any toys, blankets, stuffies that will make your pup feel more at home, however, if they have sentimental value, please leave them at home in case they get chewed; we have a few outdoor toys here that are washed regularly but every dog has their favourites! - bring a harness or gentle lead if you have one with their leash for walking (we do have harnesses here if necessary) - provide us with veterinary and emergency contact information if not already in your profile, and contact them to add us as contacts in the case of an emergency - food dishes are NOT required as we have plenty here; with that said, if your dog is picky about dishes, feel free to bring them While in our care: your dog will be loved as if they are our own and we will follow any specific instructions you have. When returned to you: they will be tired (they get lots of play time!), they will have lots of wagging tails and kisses for you, and sometimes, they'll tell you they'd like to stay ;-)

Kerrie was wonderful! Nimbus can sure be a little devil sometimes and she was very patient and ensured he got the attention he wants when he deserved it. She sent detailed updates and kept us informed

I chose Kerrie as our sitter for the fist time and will definately choose her again. Kerrie took time to meet my dog before the stay and did a great job of providing me update on how my dog was doing and sent us photos. Knowing Nick was in capable hands and well taken care of put me at ease when we were away. Also we changed our travel schedule several times, and Kerrie accommodated our changes without any complaint. We really appreciate it.
